Pacha Mana: Redefining the Future of Cacao

With a focus on ethical sourcing, sustainable farming, and the highest quality, most delicious cacao, we’re bringing a movement of change to the mainstream chocolate industry.

At Pacha Mana Cacao, our passion is to bring you the highest-quality, richly satisfying, and most ethically sourced cacao products we can obtain. This means equitable treatment of farmers, honoring the land, and caring for our products every step of the way. We source our ceremonial-grade Chuncho cacao, a specific heirloom variety with deep ancestral roots, directly from farmers in Peru. When we source our cacao, we aren’t just looking for the highest profits. We work with a family farm with generations of skill and wisdom, collaborating to process the cacao at its origin, which keeps a larger portion of the business with the farmers, their families, and their community.

Industrial, large-scale corporations rely heavily on unfair wages and poor working conditions to achieve their ultimate profit margins. This means they are predominantly sourcing cacao from West Africa, where workers’ rights are limited, and the forests are destroyed and replaced with cacao pods to boost production. This ignores the native growing conditions of cacao, which prefers shade, much like coffee trees, and forces it to grow in full sun in deforested areas, making it susceptible to disease and drought. Nearly 70% of all deforestation in West Africa is related to cocoa farming. This simply isn’t a business model we can support.

We are a heart-forward business — a family, putting our love into every product that leaves our doors. When we started Pacha Mana, our goals were clear: to bring the finest, smoothest, most complexly flavored cacao and the most ethically sourced cacao to the U.S. market to be shared with loved ones and chocolate lovers abroad. We hold these values dearly and do everything we can to keep these products accessible to our customers.

The cacao market, like most, is always changing. Recently, we saw the cost of cocoa beans go up nearly 400%. For us, the first thing we think of when we see this is, “Cacao is being valued at its true worth.” Higher costs for cacao usually mean higher prices for you, but we are doing our best to keep our costs attainable for anyone and everyone who wants to indulge in this healthy, lifestyle-friendly delicacy. We started Pacha Mana in the name of goodwill and fairness for all.

We chose our ceremonial-grade Chuncho cacao variety because we believe it connects those who consume it with an ancient tradition that transcends borders, time, and cultures. Once you’ve had your first sip of our rich, smooth, and bitterless cacao, you’ll know exactly what we mean. For us, it’s about fostering a wholesome feeling of unity between consumers and farmers. Every time you choose a Pacha Mana product, you’re doing more than selecting a high-quality product — you’re supporting a movement to treat farmers and the land that grows cacao with reverence.

With us, you’re supporting a shift to more sustainable futures for farmers and their families. We are dedicated to starting a ripple effect that invokes and inspires positive change in the agricultural landscape. We aim to be on the right side of history, sharing the fruits of our labor with every person our products encounter. With Pacha Mana, it’s love, equity, fairness, and, of course, delicious cacao — one cup at a time.
