ABOUT Ceremonial Cacao Paste
All of our ceremonial cacao is processed at origin 100% Bean to bar by the family that grows it! To protect the land, we must first protect those who care for it. Chuncho is a native variety of cacao in southern Peru, which grows in the excellent conditions found near Quillabamba, Peru.
This heirloom cacao variety produces smaller and fewer pods than some of today’s hybrid varieties, generating for these farmers around 30%-40% less volume to sell. Because of these lower yields from the Chuncho, many farmers have cut their Chuncho trees to plant varieties not native to the area. Competition of bulk cacao replacement crops has made Chuncho more and more difficult to find. Wild harvested Chuncho cacao ensures the preservation of the biodiverse species of plants in the forests and jungles of Peru.
Its origins date back centuries, when it was grown by the Machiguenga indigenous communities in the Amazon basin since, at minimum the 16th Century.
A fair and higher price to the farmers is not only compensating for the superb quality of Cacao Chuncho, but also makes up for the lower yield from native grown cacao in comparison to other hybrid cacao varieties. We hope to empower these leaders of the Andean regions and bless them with a fair compensation for their work and for the cacao’s true value as sustainable heirloom cacao.

Like a good bourbon, I like different flavor profiles. I enjoy 100% bourbon and cacao....this has a great flavor profile. Some people can say somerhing has a hint of this or a hint of that...I'm not one of tbose, but it is unique and I will purchase again.
Really great cacao!
This is the best tasting cacao I’ve had I have tried so many of the big brands and they do not even come close…. The aroma when you’re making this on the stove is heavenly I close my eyes and meditate as I exhale this delicious nourishing drink. It’s extra smooth and creamy, melts easily and the taste is just out of this world yum yum yum, I don’t mind chopping the block as it reminds me to slow down in life, nature does not rush this cacao is so soothing to my nervous system. I love mine on the stove top with spring water, organic cayenne pepper + my adaptogenic mushrooms *mostly reishi* sweetened with organic maple syrup. I did add organic vanilla bean paste but this is so decadent it’s not needed. Order this cacao and try another brand you’ll come back to this lusciousness. Peru may have the BEST cacao
This cacao is special very creamy flagrant smooth and delicious. I make it with spring water organic cayenne pepper add a dash of organic vanilla bean syrup and sweetened it with maple syrup omg yum I wish the block was 2 pounds but this is the BEST tasting cacao I’ve ever had I feel an immediate boost in my brain + heart that gives me lots of energy and stamina that last until bedtime. My mom has also ordered the bags of ground cacao the BLOCK to me is more satisfying I don’t mind it helps me start my day perfectly.loaded with vitamins and minerals. GET YOU SOME ♥️
After a lot of research, went with Pacha mana to replace my morning coffee. Perfect replacement
Love it so much I'm buying another one right now!
Love it, buying another one now:)
I am grateful to have found Pacha Mana! My family and I enjoyed having during ceremony. I look forward to more :)
I love to make this as part of my morning ritual.
It blends up perfectly and helps me control my blood pressure, and I love that it comes from a sustainable farm and tended with such care
Good cacao. Nice texture and flavor. However, there is truly no such thing as 'ceremonial' cacao. The ceremony comes from your ritual in preparing it and drinking it. The mug is a critical part of that, that's why I show one of my hand made mugs out of all natural earth materials. I will reorder this cacao, it's one of the best commercially sold cacao's on the market.
Hi Bella! Thanks for your review <3 We agree, ceremonial cacao is a term that can be overused. For us "ceremony starts at the farm", using high quality wild strains in healthy forests and ecosystems. Once it gets to you, you are able to create magic knowing it comes from a pure place and intention. I am happy to hear you love creating ritual with your cacao. We do too!
cheers!
